Is your child still taking afternoon naps? 😴

Attachment

I’m wondering when kids usually stop taking daytime naps.

How old was your child when they dropped their afternoon nap? Did it happen naturally, or did you decide it was time to transition away from naps?

What signs told you they were ready? Did it affect their bedtime, mood, or overall routine?

I’d love to hear your experiences and tips from fellow parents! 💛

Our toddler is 2Y4M old and still takes one nap after lunch, usually around 2 hours. The transition from multiple naps to one happened pretty naturally for him.

We’ve noticed that he still likes to have milk before his nap because it helps him calm down and settle. For now, we don’t see signs that he’s ready to drop his afternoon nap yet.

His bedtime is usually around 9–10 PM. He wakes up very early in the morning for milk (I think he’s adjusted to our household routine since everyone gets up around 5 or 6 AM for school and work), then goes back to sleep and wakes for the day around 8–9 AM.

From what I’ve observed, he still seems to need that daytime nap for his mood and energy. I’m following his cues for now. 👑
